Annual Hotel Conference (AHC), Manchester (09.26)

Philip attended the fringes of AHC in Manchester this year and brought back the following take-away nuggets.

• Many thanks to all the hosts of the various receptions he attended and apologies to Troo for turning up too late.
• Manchester had a busy nightlife but eventually found a steak place with friends, followed by a nightcap or two at the wonderful Motel One.
• Based on many chats, the mood music in Manchester was not that positive, with a sentiment survey at conference indicating confidence at its lowest for many years. Rising inflation and higher interest rates expected soon. Very few deals underway at the moment.
• Even the designers and technicians seemed subdued.

Philip looks forward to attending again in 2027, when the mood music will be much more buoyant hopefully.
